Clyde Drew grew up listening to the songs and stories of his people, the Mi'kmaq nation, in and around his home community of Conne River, Newfoundland. Today, he translates these stories into sculptural works that convey the beauty, the magic, and the powerful imagery of his culture. Working with traditional materials such as moose antler, Clyde creates a three-dimensional world of spirits and natural forms that have captivated Canadian and international collectors since he began working in 1985. His studio is in St. Albans, Baie d'Espoir, Newfoundland.
