This part-time opportunity is perfect for local authors and illustrators who would like to sell their books directly to cruise-ship visitors from all over the world. If you’d like to work with us, we’re more than happy to set up a section for your books/work right by the checkout!
We’re looking for folks who can help our Pavilion 22 manager, Yolanda, with opening or closing shifts on days when cruise ships are in town.
Duties include:
Being able to open and close the Kiosk when cruise ships are in town.
Checking out customers with our pen+paper receipt system
Organizing books, noting what needs restocking, and keeping the kiosk neat and tidy.
Helping customers find interesting Atlantic Canadian books and gifts.
What we require from you
Preferably have previous experience with retail
A reasonable knowledge of Atlantic Canadian books and publishing
Reliable transportation to Pavilion 22.
The ability to work early morning shifts.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Good with simple math and a calculator, as we do not have a POS scanner.
Ability to safely lift 25 lbs and move freely throughout the Pavilion kiosk
